Can you believe that Christmas is almost here??? At the Barron house,we have been busy decorating. Will decided to put wreaths on the outside of our house this year. We also decorated our tree with all of our favorite ornaments that we have collected over the years. I even tried to be creative by making an arrangement for the breakfast table and a "B" wreath for our outside gate. William has a plate and cup all ready to fill with cookies for Santa. Also, William has his own nativity in his nursery this year (thanks to Kat and Daddy Ben). And...after 2 nights and 91 pictures taken, we finally have a picture of William looking at us and smiling in front of the Christmas tree (wearing Will's outfit from his 1st Christmas). We hope you all have a very Merry "Christ"mas!

Now I lay me down to sleep...

After four months of sleeping in a cradle in our bedroom, William is now a permanent resident in his nursery. Yes, we had tried to let him sleep in his room a few times before, but it didn't stick. This was much harder for me than I had thought. It is almost like kicking your husband out of your bedroom (no, I haven't ever done that). I mean, William has been sleeping where I slept since November 2006. Anyway, he is now in his big boy room (which used to be Will's office, but I kicked him out of it for William...that is another story). So I thought I would share a view from William's room with you!

How quickly 4 months go by...
William had his 4-month check-up this week, and they seem to get more painful each time. I never knew that William had such powerful lungs, until the lady stuck him with the fourth needle! As a parent,it is one of the most helpless feelings in the world to watch your child in pain. He just looks at us(while crying hysterically) as if to say "Please help me!" After his shots, I always walk him outside to look at the water fountain, which seems to calm him down a little. But anyway...back to his 4-month update. William weighed in at 12 lb. 13 oz. (10th percentile) and was 25 1/4 inches long(75th percentile). So far, he is on track to be a mini-Will. William's next check-up will be at 6 months, so stay tuned...

A War Eagle Weekend!

What an exciting weekend! It seems that our entire weekend revolved around Auburn. On Friday, the boys (Will and William) had their first offical "guys outing." Will took William to meet former Auburn Football Coach,Pat Dye. After meeting him, the boys were able to have their picture taken with the Heisman Trophy. On Saturday, Will and I had a date to the Iron Bowl (while my sweet sister, Hannah, kept the little one). It is great to be an Auburn Tiger!

"For this child I prayed..." 1 Samuel 1:27

This past Sunday was a very special day. We dedicated our son, William, to God. After his dedication at First Baptist Church (Opelika), we hosted a brunch at Moore's Mill Country Club. What a blessing it was to have 18 family members join us in celebrating our precious child! We also found out the meaning of his name: William-"the determined guardian" and Rodney-"famous ruler."

Once and for all...
This is for all of you who continue to debate about who William looks like (yes, I am talking to you family members...you know who you are!). It is a tie! He looks like both of us.

We wish you an Aubie Christmas!

Tonight, William not only had his first encounter with Aubie, but he actually got to sit in his lap. I wasn't sure whether he would laugh or cry, but he did neither. He simply sat and just looked straight ahead. Will was able to snap a few pictures behind the photographer, and we wanted to share them with you to get you in the Christmas spirit!

Trick or Treat!

On Halloween night, we headed to downtown Auburn to "trick or treat." We enjoyed listening to a live band and seeing all the costumes. William didn't seem to mind that we didn't fill up his candy basket. After downtown, we headed to the home of the Dilworths to warm up with some yummy stew. Happy Halloween!!!

Spooky Supper Club

This month our Supper Club was held at the Myers home. This Halloween themed event served a wonderful witches brew! It also gave us a great photo op with the newest members of our Supper Club: William (tiger), Luke (hotdog), Vivian (flower) and Sara Beth (pumpkin).

3 + 1 = IV

For those of you who don't know, William's full name is William Rodney Barron IV. He follows in the footsteps of three wonderful men...Rodney (Granddaddy), Bill (Beep Beep) and Will (Dad). This past Friday was a wonderful day that I hope William never forgets. Not only was he able to meet his great-grandfather for the first time, but we had all four men together at our home! What a special day!!!

Fear the Thumb?!?!?

For most of us Auburn fans, "Fear the Thumb" is something we relish.
But as a new mom, I have a new motto: "Embrace the Thumb!" William recently decided that sucking his thumb was much more enjoyable than his pacifier. At first, I tried to persuade him that the pacifier was the much better option. But...that was before the thumb allowed him to sleep through the night! That's right...William slept through the night for the first time last night. Will and I woke at 7 a.m. this morning to utter disbelief. I know it may never happen again, but for now I am the proud mother of a child who has slept through the night. I have wanted to say that for such a long time. So, for now we are embracing the thumb!

Meet Bella...

Since most of our blogs will feature our newest blessing, William, I felt a little guilty for not mentioning our other child, Bella. She is our golden retriever, who will be 4-years-old in December. She enjoys swimming (pools or lakes are fine with her) and fetching rocks in the woods (yes...that is rocks, not balls). Bella is a wonderful big sister to William. She loves to lick him when mom and dad are not watching. William can't quite figure out who this blond is living in our house.
